i am pro military but i prefer war movies made by anti war libtard like oliver stone because anti war libtards write better quality character
that is difference between platoon and saving private ryan. platoon has better character while spr have bunch of noobs. you can put as much money and time into showing big battle like normandy landings in spr but if you have cheese characters then it mean nothing.
The anti-war Libtard movies are definitely more entertaining because instead of just being about normal soldiers doing their job, they are all about deranged, drug-addled psychopaths committing genocidal atrocities.

but the character in platoon also have good written dialogs and performance and that make difference for me.
it has been long time since i see this film from beginning to end but i still always remember barnes, elias and taylor. great character played by great actor and every line they speak i remember. it add so much to film.
that is what lasts to me when i think of war film. not battles or body counts or napalm. i remember substance to character and not the substance they smoke.
