Please release this on DVD!

Am I the only person in the world who wants this on DVD? I have a copy that my parents dubbed off of the Disney Channel for me back in 86/87 and I've watched it SO many times that the tape has become warped (note: I take REALLY good care of my movies). Anyways, I grew up with this movie and LOVE it. It is family to me. Every now and then I see it pop on the Disney Channel but I still want it on DVD! With a commentary by Haley Mills, the girls, and everything! Hell, maybe I will pop my dub in and watch it for the 86234th time tonight.

I totally know what you mean! they should make a copy of this. my grandmother taped it for me off the disney channel, and it's probably about as bad as yours. i've watched it so much, there are fuzzy parts, and parts where the people sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks. lol. i really want them to make a copy.

Yes, I agree, it should be released on DVD!!! I taped it off the Disney channel too, but the picture and sound quality wasn't the greatest. I would love for there to be extras and commentary too. One sad note, however: Brigette Anderson, who played Mary, died in 1997 of a drug overdose. Sad, huh? She made so many wonderful movies as a child, including "Savannah Smiles" and "A Summer To Remember". It would be nice if the DVD release contained a memorial or tribute to her. It is a cute movie!!!

I would absolutely love to have this on DVD! I would love for them to release all the sequals to the Parent Trap on DVD. I don't have a copy of any of them...but I remember absolutely LOVING them when I was younger!

I want the Parent Trap sequels on DVD too! I have a copy of Parent Trap II, which was taped off of ABC's Wonderful World of Disney when it was originally on in the mid 80s...it is very fuzzy and has commercials. (It is kind of funny to watch the old commercials, though!) I have a more recent copy taped off of the Disney Channel in the mid 90s. I have copies of PT III and Hawaiian Honeymoon somewhere, but they are all fuzzy too. Hopefully Disney will realize that enough people want these on DVD!!

I have loved this movie for so long as well and would give some extraneous organ to have a DVD copy of it. I, too, have a copy taped from TV and have even gone so far as to consider taking this and other movies/TV shows that I taped off TV but that aren't available to a local video store that transfers tapes to DVDs so that the warping problem doesn't happen to my tape as well.

Some of my favorite one-liners from the movie are: "If their date is half as good as these cookies, we'll be sisters in no time!" "He's real cute. For a moment I thought he was Ralph Macchio." "Sign it 'Passionately yours.' That's the way Rob Lowe signs all his letters in Sixteen Magazine." I always jokingly sign e-mails and letters "Passionately yours" as a result of this.

I have it videotaped off of TV too. It is so sad to know Bridgette Andersen is not longer with us. But I will forever love this movie.

I'd love to see this on DVD. It has always been a favorite of mine. I've loved it since I was 10 years old. Its so sad to read that Bridgette Andersen died of a drug overdose. I guess its the price she paid for being such a wonderful young actress.

I forgot all about 'passionately yours'! One of my favorite parts definetely. I just found a dub of this at my parents house and I can't wait to watch it, I pray it still works.

If someone starts up a petition to get all the sequels released on DVD I will sign it heaps!! I love all the sequels as well but haven't seen then for years!!

I would like all of them on DVD as well. We grew up with the Disney channel and have Parent Traps 1, 2, 3 and Parent Trap Hawaiian Honeymoon all on tape. I'd like to have my own collection if I ever have kids. So what if they were made for t.v.? They're still cute, clean and timeless.

Cool! Disney will release this on DVD as a double feature with the original "Parent Trap" film this upcoming September!

I remember seeing this on 'The Wonderful World of Disney' here in Australia when I was 7 ('86 or '87).... and I loved it!

I'd LOVE a dvd or video copy if anyone has one!

I just rented the DVD from Netflix. You rent the original Parent Trap and get this as a bonus on the same DVD.
