The Lamp vs The Outing...

The Outing is a 1987 horror film that is an edited and shortened version of the original motion picture, titled The Lamp.

The original, The Lamp had a long distribution period in Europe, Asia and other overseas' markets. As of the first decade of the 21st Century, The Lamp remains in distribution. The edited and shorted version, The Outing, was distributed in the United States by The Movie Store (TMS].TMS, edited the film, changed its opening credits, and altered the music track.

So which version do you prefer?

I think the origional uncut Europeon version was deleted ( i happen to have the uncut dvd)

The Outing" came out on blu ray back in 2013 on a feature with The Godsend and a couple of other movies . BUT i think as it's the edited U.S version.So unless you can get hold of some one to do you a copy of the region2 ( and you have a multi region dvd player) you might not get the full version of " The Lamp".

On the version you can buy, from Amazon details below the review of picture quality is not great. The Outing (1987): full screen, picture looks like a high quality VHS,transfer no extras

I have plans to buy a multi region dvd player, so that isn't a problem. But finding a Region 2 copy of The Lamp might be a little harder. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I know some people claim to own that cut of the movie. I wish I could find it.
