Teddy Just Forgets About His Ferrari???

I'm sure this has been addressed before how did Teddy not commit a homicide after finding out that Hoops' gang cut up his 'Rari to win the race?

After Hoops wins the trophy, he confronts Teddy and makes a deal where a trade is made: the trophy (which Teddy and his dad need so the grandpa doesn't cut off their trust fund) for the house (which Hoops and Cassandra need). Hoops even says something like, "That way, everybody wins."

Sure, but what about the damn Ferrari? Teddy nearly impaled Hoops after their first meeting when Hoops accidentally touched the car after Teddy skidded to a stop right behind him. He obviously was nuts about the car through the whole movie and hated Hoops, so all of a sudden he's just cool with the fact that the car got cut up???

Loved the movie, that's the only part that didn't add up.

You're right, it's completely ridiculous and absurd.

It's so ridiculous, in fact, that the only thing more ridiculous and absurd would be someone trying to rationalize the events and plot devices of a movie like One Crazy Summer.

Fellow Kai, Telecaster

I used to think about this as well, but even in "movie-land" Teddy and his family were filthy rich. I'm sure that either his dad - mortal enemy of Twisted Sister or Mr. Prizzi's Honor would go up to one of their many bathrooms and shat another Magnum P.I. special for him.

Uh, you forgot the rest of that scene. Teddy takes the trophy saying, "OK, but you're only half right McCann." Then his grandfather snatches the trophy from Teddy and says, "That house isn't going to do you or your father any good. I'm not going to put a dime into Beckerstead Estates. This is the real investment Teddy-FRIENDSHIP! Here's your house back." He gives the deed to Cassandra, who thanks him and then he says, "The little lady has quite a voice. C'mon Teddy." and he pulls on Teddy's ear as they leave. That shows that his grandfather has the power and would prevent Teddy and his dad from doing any other harm to Cassandra, Hoops, Egg, Clay, Ack Ack, and the others.

stevenackerman69 is absolutely correct. That is a 100% dead-on recollection of that scene. What I was trying to say is regardless of Teddy feeling that Hoops was "half right" or anything, that family would still go buy another Ferrari for him. Maybe since the grandfather isn't investing in Beckerstead Estates he can upgrade Teddy to a Lamborghini and he can stop whining.

Thanks. Yeah, I tried to quote the scene as accurately as I could, without going into too much detail.

Car is nothing without the trophy, probably wasn't under his name.

Trophy means set for life. Car is just his car from now.

Plus insurance will cover it

You know... Teddy could have just bought a Trovare from (his now ex) Kim Foster when she moves to Dallas... hahaha. Tro-varrrrrrr-eeeee
