Does anybody know why this site lists this film as 149 minutes long, while the version I just ordered from Netflix says 246? I hope the latter is true. Solaris is one of the greatest ever, and I LOVE the pacing and epic length. Were there perhaps 2 seperate cuts released at different times? If so, I would expect them to indicate as much? Perplexed, I am.
shareThe reason the Netflix one says 246 min is that there is also a documentary on Andrei Tarkovsky on that dvd, so it adds up the total time of both features. The length listed on IMDB is correct.
shareWouldn't want to be that long. Don't get me wrong, I loved the film, but some of Tarkovsky's films can be ordeals if you're not fully prepared for them. A 246-long version of this might be pushing it ;)
