If youre a pretentious douche. Just because you film a bunch of asshoes having exitentialist menstral periods does not a good movie make. Ok. Photography big whoop. calm down, its just the same situation in which you were as a child and learned to read. just that you knew that time, that you dont know everything already. viewed in this light, you were in a MUCH better situation those days ^_^
just spend not so much with baby talk (mainstream hollywood movies) and confront yourself and your brain and your visual sensitivity with real art. let prometheus bring the light to you xD

funny thing is, the people who claim a film or a band or a peice of art is pretentious are the ones who are themselves pretentious. you think labeling a film like this as pretentious proves that you have some sort of superior intellect but it just shows your immaturity. you obviously weren't watching this film with an open mind (don't even bother saying that you did. you VERY obviously didn't) so the visual metaphors and deeper meanings went right over your head. tarkovsky was a MASTER film maker and this was his last film and probably one of his best. You can't say it made no sense or it had no meaning until you yourself become a master of film on his level. you never will ican tell you that much. people like you are seriously pathetic. get over yourself and you'll be able to enjoy this film.
