cute movie but there's almost no ending to it!

this was a very cute movie---a lot of good character actors in the supporting roles...you get a boatload of familiar actors and faces or actors you'd probably wouldn't know the name of (who else would know the principal from the back to the future movies???) sadly it kinda proves why Judge Reinhold isn't a leading actor...no presence...but is he really any different then some of the pretty empty actors working today? Meg Tilly was cuute though!

As cute and as entertainingly fluffy as the movie was---the ending really doesn't make much sense in that Reinhold doesn't really get much punishment or flak for impersonating a cop---aside from the scene with him getting yelled at by the commissioner---its as if the movie just decided to let that go to leave everyone feeling good at the end...i kept expecting the inevitable scene where he tells Tilly the truth but when he finally does its in the middle of a hostage situation and she never really believes him! (thinking instead that there must be 2 A Washingtons in the Two-Two!)

that aside though it was a sweet movie with a lot of good dialog scenes---its a movie very much of character actors savoring their dialog (and in the process upstaging the easily upstagable Reinhold) Bonus Points for including Victor Argo as a dim bank robber trying to remember old songs to sing with the hostages. (Argo forever known to me as the mob henchman in Quick Change! and one of the mobsters in Ghost Dog! and the mobster from Next Stop Wonderland)
