Kim Basinger

Wow, she is astonishingly beautiful, but she had almost nothing to say throughout the whole movie.

Well she had led a really sheltered bizarre life and had no clue how to be around people. I thought she had great chemistry with Richard Gere.

I had no problem with the actress. I just thought the writers didn't give her much to do. Your explanation makes good sense but I don't think it was explained in the movie as well as it could have been.

Actually, I'm going on memory that is over two years ago. I would need to see the movie over again to make a more informed response.

I'm going from memory too, but I thought it was explained that her mother sold her to Losado at a young age. She was really nothing more than a sex slave. I recall a scene where Gere realized she couldn't read or write, so her whole world was this Losado guy who seemed to be extremely jealous. I haven't seen in in awhile either, so probably need to rewatch too.

I do remember that scene between them when it was revealed she could not read and the reaction of Richard Gere's character. That was endearing and yes it demonstrated just how crippled her life was.

Good call.

Oh yes, she's always been beautiful. I loved seeing her at the club dancing, I've only seen Kim dance in one other movie, Blind Date.

Y'know, I could eat a peach for hours

Q: Richard Gere in No Mercy and Final Analysis?

A: I met Richard on No Mercy and we had a good time. It was an excellent script which was just destroyed along the way, and TriStar didn't market it properly. Final Analysis did not end up happy for Richard, who was the executive producer. He had creative differences with the director. In the end there was a lot of animosity between a lot of people and with the studio. I was in my own world for that film. I never saw it.
