Is the Blu-ray remastered?

... or otherwise a better visual fidelity to justify getting it even though I already have the DVD? I see that they're the same aspect ratio of 1.85:1.

Wait for the 3D version;-D

OnTop, NOPE not really. Same master, here in Europe, that is. :-(

Ooooo, a 3D version of Salvatore wagging his tongue around, "no savvy, no savvy!"

I got the BR version and it does not seem remastered. I might be enjoying a bit more clarity, but otherwise I can't recommend it if you already have the DVD.

I would have said the opposite, bt it's a matter of taste.

The film was always dark and bleak-looking, which I think is completely appropriate to the story. The image in the Blu-ray is much better balanced in contrast, with details clear even in the dim scenes in the labyrinth of the Library (for example), and the colour consistent throughout. For me, the DVD was one of those you really had to squint at for much of the time.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
