Jane Fonda as a drunk

When her character is intoxicated she is perfection as a mouthy, self indulgent drunk. The way she looks at Jeff Bridges when he is lecturing her and she's totally drunk...awesome. I know a lot of alcoholics and her portrayal is dead on.

Dammit Carol Sue, where is the vodka?!

You are so Right! Her performance in this film is so great.
One of my favorites of all time, just because of her!

Yes...she's superb in this.

And I love the way she says, "I am an actress. (sigh) Was. (level look) I was even good."

It really is a classic Fonda performance....and kinda off topic....LOVE her Mercedes in this flick!

I took exception for her character not displaying withdrawals at any point. Here is once she needs the hair of the dog that bit her ("I need a drink!"), but there are no withdrawals otherwise.

An alcoholic drinking so much would be in way worse shape once sobering up. She plays drunk quite well, but not the sobering moments.
