Mr. Fielding and Mr. Blandings
Anyone here a fan of both films and like to discuss? I adore both the remake and its predecessor.
shareI don't consider this a remake, per se.
I think it is more a reworking of a similar concept.
Blandings is more about the actual comedy of errors and shocking costs that can occur when building a house... more about how it can get out of control. (With some well written subplots).
Money Pit, in my opinion, is much more a farce. Slapstick about getting stuck in floors and domino-like accidents that wipe out half the house in a single swipe.
