One of the worst 'comedies' ever!

Wow, Tom Hanks is so laughably bad in this. The dialogue is terrible. The concept is weak. The acting is abysmal. WEAK MOVIE! Can't believe it got a 6.2, it should be more like a 2.6

I love this movie and think it's very funny. I gave it an 8. It's a movie I have watched many times. It's not the best movie every made, but it is pleasant diverting entertainment. Not everything has to be a masterpiece.

Hey Dave, Airplane II is always available to watch. I'm sure that's more your speed.

This is one of Hanks' better comedies. It is still tremendously entertaining almost 30 years later.

Maybe one of the 37 Transformers movies or movies just like it (Battleship, Godzilla, etc) would be more your speed?

Weak troll attempt, dave.

Not that you'll ever come back and check its troll progress. I looked at your profile, clearly you like to start crap, but then run. Quite a few msge board posts, but all new threads started by yourself, for yourself.

Transparent narcissistic ego weakness, dave.

Great movie. And still hilarious. I thought the breakup/ending were a little weak, and mars the overall movie a tiny bit, but it's still rewatchable after multiple viewings over the years.

You haven't seen many know movies if you consider this one of the worst comedies ever. It's either that or you're being over dramatic to paint your opinion to everyone. Either way is pretty stupid.

reply

Actually, I have to agree. I loved this movie when I was a little kid... But I watched it last night and I thought it was awful. It has 3-4 funny/cool/memorable moments sprinkled throughout a whole lot of useless screen time.
During the entire last act this movie FORGETS TO BE A COMEDY!! Seriously, the problem of the house is basically ignored in favor of a really dumb maritial infedility plotline. There is WAY too much of Hanks and Long shouting/arguing at each as if they are in a drama film about relationships with NO semblance of comedy whatsoever during these scenes. The whole "did you sleep with Max?" plotline is horrendous, contrived and slapped on merely to be that third-act setback before the house is made perfect. Just so dumb. And the entire plot otherwise is entirely dependent on the characters being complete oblivious morons.

?? This is one of Tom Hanks' best performances.
