The laughing scene!

I'm not sure if someone else posted about ths topic already, but to me one of the best scenes in the movie is the one where tom laughs at the top of the balcony where the stairs just collapsed...has anyone heard any info about preparation for that scene?

I thought your post was going to be about the bigger laugh at the bathtub scene. I wish he had done that laugh in one of his super-religious serious films. That would have made them so much better.

An amazing performance . At first shocking but then you cant help laughing along anyway . (when he's laughing hysterically through the hole in the floor)

That which does not Kill me makes me Stranger . . .

I feel like you're referring to the scene where the bathtub crashes through the floor? My friend and I used to watch that scene on repeat. We probably wore out the VHS tape we were watching with our repeated rewinding.

It would be great to hear a behind-the-scenes of filming that scene. I wonder if the laugh was scripted but Hanks improvised the part where it becomes almost a sob-scream.

Also, I can't believe the hate for this movie! I showed it to my bf recently and he didn't care for it either. I've always loved this movie.

I feel like I've been there. Everything is going wrong, then when the last straw breaks the camel's back, you just have to laugh. And sometimes you just can't stop.
