Another movie that only works if the main characters are really dumb ...

Walter's a lawyer; he reads contracts and language all the time to save his clients' money. And yet he buys a suspiciously cheap house without having even the most basic of inspections done first. Yes, I know he is desperate, but would he really forget all of his training just when it's time to make the biggest single investment of his life?

Oh, and that very funny scene where he gets himself all covered in plaster and then stumbles around, blind, on the roof and into the scaffolding? What kind of total idiot finds themselves blinded and doesn't ... stand still and call for help?

Don't get me wrong; I enjoy this movie. But the people are pretty damned stupid.
