Would you be able to give me your opinions on how Cathy Tyson has been portrayed...is she represented postively or is she represented poorly?

Great film and one of my favorites by Neil Jordan, but you might want to throw a 'spoiler' block around that one, just in case someone hasn't seen it yet. It is kind of a crucial moment in the film when it is discovered.

My view is that it is a rather curious piece of casting, as Cathy Tyson is not (in my opinion) pretty enough to be a high class prostitute. If this is an expensive whore, I dread to think what the cheaper ones look like! It's not a bad film in all, but I can't understand why she was given the role. I appreciate that this doesn't really answer your question, but I just wanted to get this off my chest. (Apologies to anyone who might be offended by my comments, but this is a film about prostitution and as such it is going to be a contentious subject.)
