Missing the heart of the book

There's really nothing special about this movie. It's a direct copy of the book, the special effects are slightly embarassing and it doesn't have the same imagination (because the director was given little room to inject his own creativity, I suppose). If someone would take a few screenshots or put some clips on YouTube, you'll basically see everything you could get out of it. Otherwise, read the book!!

Thank God it's a "direct copy of the book"! Otherwise it would've been a disastrous mess like the Neverending Story Trilogy. There you have your precious "director's creativity" that butchered the story in every possible way!

The book is far better than the movie, I agree. But that's not really a surprise, isn't it? The books are always better.

The book is better, yes. And the film is a direct trancelaton of it. And that's what I like about the film. That's the reason I love the film. Because the book is so great, this film cannot failm, imo.

They blew up Congress!!! HAHAHA!

No, that's the problem of the film. A book cannot be adapted 1 : 1 into film. Books and Films are very different mediums.

I love the Book (Momo) - and find the film to be a rushed, cheaply produced thing. The spirit of the book is missing - and it even seems as if many things are just cut out.

Seriously - if you do not know the book you can get quite lost in this half-assed "movie" - I was asking myself all the time what was going on - and only because I know the book very well, I knew the answers.

Someone who just watches the movie without ever having read the book can only be confused - or bored.
