Greatest soundtrack ever

Good movie made much better by an amazing soundtrack.

Yes. I became obsessed with Gabriel's Oboe when I saw The Mission. I thought: what a soft, calm and beautiful melody it conveyed. The music is out of its world, fully deserving of the recognition it's received since.

Heard it LIVE a few weeks ago by Ennio himself. It's now (30 years later) one of my favorites soundtracks. I had tears when I heard the choir perform live.

RIP Ennio, sad news

For me the movie is just about okay, but the breathtaking photography of Chris Menges and Morricone’s magnificent score make it seem much better than it is. One of the greatest movie soundtracks ever, surely.
