very nice, pleasant film. 30-minute film, that is. found it, several places on youtube.
a little naive and idealistic for modern times, but still a nice inspiring story.
dunno about the theme being the same as JDF/MDS, nor the idea that this is the best animated film ever. but it does have a very personal, homespun quality that is rare in films, animated or otherwise. like an animated classic children's book, but with more detail and scope.

I need to see this animated film. I think that there was really a Frenchman who tried to reforest that area at some point.
