Please Help..


Do i need to see Jean de Florette before i watch this??? because its commin on film4 soon.. an i wont be able to get the first 1 on dvd...

I'd tape Manon des sources because I think Jean de Florette is on again 'in the next couple of weeks'.

You *must* watch Jean de Florette first, as it's the first half of one long film. They were made together, and meant to be viewed together. While 'Manon' would just about stand up on its own, lots of it would mke no sense because you'd have missed the first half!

They are brilliant, brilliant films: set aside an evening, a bottle of rough French village red, and enjoy.

Anybody else who might be still wondering about this, you're like me. I didn't have the choice of seeing Florette first. Although I may have given myself ready-made spoilers for when I do see the first film, I found Manon enjoyable in it's own right.
