Ranking the versions I've seen...

I've seen 3 cuts of this movie: Original Theatrical version, Anchor Bay Theatrical version and Anchor Bay director's cut. All three of them are worth watching!

1. Anchor Bay theatrical. This one is my favourite of the 3. I specifically liked the green opening credits that this version has. They really go with the mood of the film. In the other 2 versions, the credits are white, which is boring in comparison. I also liked the extra scene with Will Graham and his wife. It added more character development between the two.

2. Original theatrical. I liked the extra dialogue about Hannibal Lecktor and the scene of Will Graham expressing remorse over the "Tooth Fairy." Both sequences are missing from the Anchor Bay theatrical. I'm not sure why. What brings this version down below the Anchor Bay theatrical is the lack of those green credits. I know it seems trivial, but i really love those credits!

3. Anchor Bay director's cut. This has some great scenes that are missing in both other versions, but is mainly brought down by the poor picture quality (I have heard that it has been remastered but with one scene missing.) I also didn't like the way the finale scene was edited. It made me appreciate the other versions more. I liked that the scene of Will Graham talking to Hannibal Lecktor in his cell was lengthened, even if it was only a little bit.
