Brian Cox Interview (comments on Red Dragon/Manhunter)

rian Cox – not to be confused with the younger physicist – doesn’t pull any punches. Certainly not when it comes to Red Dragon, the second screen adaptation of Thomas Harris’ first novel to feature the infamous Hannibal Lecter. “The man is a joke – he couldn’t direct traffic, much less a film,” says Cox of the film’s director, Brett Ratner.

I couldn't have said it better myself, other than to remark that Brett Ratner should have stuck to making Madonna music videos and kept as far away from this material as possible.

Wonderful.

He directed a man directing traffic in one of the Rush Hour sequels.

Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown.

That's refreshing. Usually no one will criticise anyone else in the business and it's all so fake and boring.
