You'll never look at a standup ashtray the same way again

A little gem of a heist movie with good performances from Friels, Hargreaves & (especially) the wonderfully warm & sexy Lindy Davies. Perusing the user reviews it's clear that Malcolm is one of those little seen films that inculcates great enthusiasm in those who've seen it & I can quite understand why.

It really is a winner. So sweet, charming & good natured & the climactic robbery is a hoot. I was laughing so hard at those ashtrays(!) & the getaway vehicle (you know the one) is just the perfect finishing touch. Interesting that the last scene appears to be setting up for a sequel but if it was ever planned it's probably just as well it never materialised. It's hard to see how they could have topped this.

Malcolm deserves to be much better known than it is. If it comes on tv make the effort to catch it or tape it. I think you'll find it was worth it.
