When I was a kid the showed this film on TV and it said he died making..

this film, am I the only person who saw this? It was shown on British TV sometime between 1990-92, looking back im guessing it was some mistranslation but it was definitely this film because this is the one where he cracked his skull on the tree, this was strange because when movies like rumble in the bronx were released I assumed the were posthumously.

I assume what happened here was either you or the TV network confused this movie ("Operation Condor") with another bird titled film, "The Crow". Brandon Lee, not Jackie Chan, died while making that.

No-he nearly died. In the scene where he jumps from the castle battlement into a tree, he missed, and tumbled to the ground. Because he was using a Jugoslavian film crew, they leapt out of the way to save themselves and their equipment-had he been using his own Chinese crew, they were all trained to put the actors (and especially the star) first, and would have caught him. Instead, he bashed his head on a rock, and had to have a piece of his skull removed to relieve the pressure. To this day, he has a hole in his skull covered by flesh only, which vibrates when he speaks... He's very aware than another blow in the same place could prove fatal, but it doesn't stop him from throwing himself around...

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe...
