The "R" rating...

While it was rated "II A" in Hong Kong (which is like a PG-13), they can tolerate more violence. Hell, "Young Master" was given a "I" rating... similar to our PG! While a majority of the film is like a PG-13, the film's finale is suddenly much more violent with characters getting shot, stabbed, and even Jackie himself picking up a henchman's machete and burrying it halfway into their neck! I honestly believe this is pretty much "R material", even though it only comes from the final battle.

No. I think there is nothing to suggest an R rating for Heart of the Dragon.
...well maybe for the bathtub scene.

A 15 certificate would sit well with this in the UK.

Yeah, it's not really 18 material. Though some of the HKL films have strange certificates, like Dragon Lord, for instace. I cannot for the life of me comprehend why that was given an 18... I guess some of the impacts in the last fight are fairly gritty, but certainly not 18 material.

Yeah, I mean its a PG in Australia...

This movie does not deserve being rated R. Well, the MPAA has always been too strict and stupid.

I'm still trying to wonder why the UK labeled the Magnificent Butcher and 18 rating. It's not even that extreme.

The R is for Retarded. No, it is the finale that earned this film it's R-rating. Just over the top violent and completely unnecessarily so if I might add.
