performance art

Daryl Hannah does a scene in which she does a flame-centered piece of performance art which we love. Who is responsible for that art?

I don't know, but it's quite fascinating, isn't it? For those who think that performance art is just people writing around in baked beans (not that there's anything wrong with that), that piece was a real revelation.

reply

Oh, there's nothing wrong with writhing around in baked beans. If you're Ann-Margret.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

Love that scene, love that film, and love the Vapors while I'm at it.

art in new york at that time was very inventive
I think the bbc have done some programmes on the subject
of warhol and paul macartneys late wife

can't really put my finger on it but would be interesting to know

reply

I don't know who was responsible but I just saw it again (probably about the 7th or 8th time over the last 25 years) and it certainly stands the test of time.

I think the incendiary material is a form of rice paper
very light [in weight] and is sometimes used in fine print
books to divide pages for example print from photographs
bit like a tissue but lighter [in weight]

reply

It looked rather off beat at the time but still stands up well.

Its that man again!!

Apparently, Daryl Hannah wrote the song. They were probably playing of what was chic at the time -- Laurie Anderson, Robert Ashley, etc.

reply

You can see the persons involved in making the performance in the end Credits

that scene is maybe one of my favorites in all of cinema
