Lawyer-Client Sex

Tom and Chelsea have sex. But he is her attorney. Is this ethical/legal?

reply

Highly unethical

But sadly not uncommon

Lawyers lose their licenses all the time for stuff like this

reply

The 80's were a very different time. There would have been a film of white dust on the desks as well.

reply

A lawyer screwing a mentally unstable client? Coulda been disbarred in real life. But it's a Robert Redford movie, not real life. In the movies, Redford's actions are NEVER questioned.

What a lame movie this was. I vaguely remember it from back in the day, and who the hell had the idea of making a having to choose between two hot women half his age, one crazy and one sane... and him favoring the crazy one for most of the film?

reply

She seduced him, and at that time she was not his client. In fact, he was still the assistant D.A. But it was still a serious breach of ethics. Worse than that, he was aware that the delightful Laura was hot for him, and yet allowed himself to fuck the bland, dumb, and probably psycho Chelsea. What a dope. He was extremely lucky that Laura was still interested in him after that.

reply

well he was still ADA at the time of sex.
so, yes. completely unethical since he is part of the prosecution.

but are you really turning down 80s Daryl Hannah in your bed?!
I AM NOT MADE OF STONE
