Bad News about 'The Kindred' DVD

I contacted Synapse Films about the release of "the Kindred". This is the information I received:
Re: Contact Us Form Submission At Synapse-Films.com
From: "Donald May, Jr." <[email protected]>

Sadly, nothing to report at this time. The film has been removed from our
schedule.

Rats; I guess we will have to even longer.

What's wrong with Synapse? The Kindred is at least as good if not better than Blue Sunshine and stuff like that. (Though I like that movie too.)

reply

Nothing's wrong with Synapse. There are legal issues with The Kindred that have not yet been resolved.

reply

Here's an e-mail I received from Synapse today after asking them about the DVD:

We’re all still trying to work out all the legal stuff with that film. The producer said he would get back to us in the next few months.

reply

Check out the Region 2 PAL DVD on Amazon UK if you want (about $16 I think when I looked last night) Buy it, throw it in your DVD drive and rip it Region free and reburn it and play it on your normal Region 1 system... That's it!

I have over 5000 films, many of them very rare and OOP. I LOVE to trade. PLEASE ASK!

reply

This is just a bad VHS transfer, so I wouldn't waste my money on it.

Let's hope Synapse get's the deals they need to release a proper DVD.

I emailed Synapse Films Don May, Jr. about the release of The Kindred.

The film has been locked up in a legal issue for almost 7 years now. If we can do it eventually, we will.

Fingers crossed things get resolved soon.
