I wonder what could have happened to the mutant people that Dr. Lloyd had been experimenting on back at the hospital that ate the man who was trying to extort money form him . They might still be waiting for him to come back ...

I watched the film last night. I must admit that I didn't think again about those mutants for long after that scene, but I did wonder about what happened to Melissa at the end after she transformed into that sea-gill creature. That was a surprising and unexpected sequence and the last we saw her she was left alone lying in a fetal position on the floor. I kept expecting her to jump up at the start or end of the credits or something!
