It was unbearable to watch. I had headache watching this movie. Russian comedy is really silly like 'beloe santoshi', 'gentlemen of fortune' and this. Only 'Evan changed the profession' was somewhat funny. I highly adore(!!!) the sense of humor of russian people. Balkan movies are always funny and entertaining such as 'black cat, white cat', 'who is singing over there' compared to these russian comedy movies .

well, I didn't understand this movie that well either, but I guess it was a satire about the Soviet lifestyle. I wouldn't go far enough to call it one of my favorites, but it was somewhat enjoyable and interesting!

No it was not. Not all Soviet movies are about the Soviet Union.
If it was a satire about anything, then it was against capitalism. The aliens are greedy backstabbers, without culture or values, who do everything for the "money" and dominate people with less money.
Sounds to me like Soviet's view of capitalism.
But I see the movie as a fun adventure with philosophical thoughts, exploring the human condition in general.
