Hidden Gems

I think the hidden gems in this movie were Lewis Arquette as Buck the guard (@ the TV station) who gives MTM a hard time when she goes to see Christine Lahti after clearing out Ted Danson's desk...and the other gem is the woman in the background at the ice cream parlor (extra Helene Winston) who looks like someone just peed in her cheerios when Christine Lahti calls her ex-boss an A-hole. The look of sheer horror and disgust on her face as she looks over at MTM who is left standing at the counter, as if to imply, "your friend's potty mouth just ruined my whole evening out" is hilarious! 80's American interior decor is nauseating. The diagonal cedar plank on Christine Lahti's wall...the "aerobics" classes, and the over-use of American Chrysler & Dodge cars...not to mention everyone smoking inside, in other peoples' homes, in restaurants, (and even right at their desk) is just over the top in this film. Yes, we used to do that. It was a different world indeed. Thank God times have changed! If the smoking didn't kill us, that Almond and Neutral decor would have! Ptooey, cough, gag!
