Any french speakers can help?

At that part just before Talbot asks Terry to dance, she passed by two people talking. They look at her and say something in french and she says "Oh, thank you! Thank you!" like she's get a compliment. It sounded like the man said "Ce mauvais homme." Was he saying that she looked like a man? It would be funny considering she was saying that she fit in at the ball and some guy on the street thought she was a drag queen.

Hi KCohere,

sorry i cannot reply your request right now as I've always seen this movie in French (and never noticed there were French speakers in it).

But i'll have a look at it soon and will tell you what i will have heard.

Bye

Julie

Maybe she was saying, "I loved your performance earlier." Lol.

reply

Thanks, Julie. Take your time, lol. I just thought it was funny and a good bit of continuity.

reply

I believe she said "j'adore cette robe" which means I love that dress.

That's something I've always wondered, if they dub a movie in French *or anyother language* How do they handle the stuff that's already in French so it makes sense?

Most people see things that are and ask "why?", I dream things that never were and ask, "why not?"

reply

The woman says: J'adore cette robe (I love this dress)
The man replies: C'est marveilleux, oui? (It's marvelous, isn't it?)

Thanks yorick5 ^_^
I've always wondered what they said too...

((i am Jack's complete lack of surprise))

Really? Because from the WAY in which they were saying whatever it was they said, it certainly did NOT sound like a compliment!
