EXCELLENT Movie!!!

I remember having watched this movie in my French class in highschool and remember it being so astoundingly good. It's followup was just as good. I am just dissapointed that great Foreign films are really not marketed that much over here in the USA. And if it hadn't been for my french teacher, I would have never known about this film. Anymore suggestions as to:
1. Is the DVD out? I've had a hard time trying to get it through rentals
2. Anymore great foreign films suggestions like these two? I have already watched:
1. Cinema Paradiso (one of my all time favorite)
2. La vita e Bella
