Evil Dead II?

Some very obvious Evil Dead inspirations in here (specifically ED2) even though that was released a year later, possible that there could have been some kind of a preview screening or something? Or that it was even the other way around?

If anything it would have been the other way around given the release dates. House had preview screenings in 1985 it absolutely predates Evil Dead II.

Horror comedy was booming in the mid 1980s.
