Spoiler question and power rankings

How is it that Jagi is part of the North Star when he is so weak compared to the other North Stars? Wouldn't Ryuken have kicked him out of the temple like he did with that other red head kid since it was useless to train him further if he wasn't able to compete in the same level as Raoh, Toki and Ken.

Also if there was no interference, no rematch to use a different game plan, and that they are in their peak condition with no illness, would the power rankings look more like?
1.Toki
2.Ryuken
3.Raoh
4.Souther
5.Ken
6.Shew
Not sure where Juza and Fudo quite rank because I can see Juza beating Raoh 7/10 times and Fudo was mounting a comeback against Raoh before 2 spears were launced at him by Raoh's army

Jagi was a talented martial artist in his own right and able to learn the techniques so there wasn't any reason to kick him out until he revealed his dark side.

This is how I'd rank them.
1.Toki
2.Ken
3.Ryuken
4.Raoh
5.Souther
6.Shuu

As much as I like Souther, he said it himself (at least in all the translations I got) that Ken is stronger than him.

Were it not for his "secret" Ken would have defeated him in their very first fight.

Just for curiosity, why Toki above Ryuken ? Shouldn't the master always be first ?

Jagi is a mystery to me : he pretty much sucks, not sure why Ryuken wasted his time on him.

But he's cool and I have fond memories of him 'cuz he scared the hell out of me when I was a little kid ^^

At that point (not having seen Raoh yet) he was the most badass villain I had ever seen, OK I was like 6 years old (how the F did they let little kids watch this stuff back then lol ? Today it would be unacceptable by PC-pussy standards. God I miss the '80s...)
