once a cheater ALWAYS a cheater

the fact that he cheated on her once was one too many times.

he ended up cheating on her...AGAIN! 

He never really stopped cheating on her. In real life Nora's husband at the time was Carl Bernstein (nothing special in the looks department), and his mistress was the very tall and plain Margaret Jay. Her husband Peter Jay used to blame Nora for the end of his marriage and everything that went down, when he should have taken a good long look at his wife. She couldn't keep her legs closed in and around Washington D.C.

Why you would even get married to a guy who is known for his womanizing is beyond me. They never change, can't believe she was actually surprised when she found out he was cheating the first time.

Yep, once a cheater, always a cheater.

Even if the person never cheats again (which they more than likely will), when somebody cheats, the trust is gone and it will never come back 100%.

I really felt sorry for Meryl Streep's character in this movie, how she kept trying to be a "good" wife by cooking special meals and not complaining just so she could hold onto her philandering unapologetic husband. Then when he told her that he and Thelma were mad at HER for starting a rumor about Thelma...oh, man. No wonder she wished he would die. I can't imagine how difficult that situation would be, especially with a baby and being pregnant!

The lesson, of course, is to trust your instincts, as hers told her clearly NOT to get married.

Depressing movie.
