What have been a decent movie if .......

....they had deleted Mario Van Peebles key scenes & voice.

Would have had potential but the constant Funk-a-Delic talk and In-Your-Face gyrations left me harkening for "The Sands of Iwo Jima".
If I wanted to see gyrations I would have watched reruns of the Orangutan in "Every Which Way but Loose".

The actual Marines who fought in Grenada deserved far better respect than this Eastwood version of Soul Train, I guess Clint was having
an off year.

Agree. There are many minor faults, however, Van Peebles is by far the worst part of the film. Almost as annoying as Chris Tucker in the Fifth Element (or just about ANYTHING CT is in)..

He was awful. The other soldiers were pretty bad, too, but Van Peebs made 'em look good in comparison.

(The screenplay was also pretty bad, though. SO MANY military cliches!)

Clint is the only thing good about this movie (because Clint is generally awesome anyways).
Van Peebles prancing around with the guitar...my God. He along with the others (the dude with the mirrored aviator glasses comes to mind) were terrible.
Just watch the Clint scenes...makes it a much better flick.

There really isn't anything that could have made this movie decent. It's a homoerotic disaster on every level.
