Probably the *beep* war movie ever...
Or at least the worst movie made about the "crotch," as we called the Marine Corps in the late '60. (Sometimes we called the corps "the suck.")
Absurd premise, for starters. Two US Army lifers, vets of the Korean war, find themselves as NCOs in the "crotch" thirty years later. The opposite was more realistic, that Marine lifers opted for other military services as promotions were slow in the Marines.
Eastwood calls cadence like constipated grandmother and goes through culture clash with the Marines most elite unit, Recon. Fifty-plus year old sergeants like Eastwood couldn't hack life with Recon Marines.
I rate this mess as being numba *beep* ten and wonder why the Military Channel can't offer some fresh war movie fare, such as movies made from outside the U.S.
