Cuban flag?

In an early Grenada sequence, the platoon comes upon some Cubans, whose flag looks like the standard Cuban flag except it seems to have a gold star instead of a white one. Anybody know what's up with that? I can find nothing to indicate a gold star for a battle flag, for Cuba.

Talk about a trivial question ....
