I was actually on the set of the movie because some of the scenes were shot at the Camp Pendleton Base Brig/24 Area and the reason I know this is because I was stationed there as a Marine Corrections Specialist...and in fact some of my fellow Marines were a part of the film....ie; the short stocky gentleman in the black police uniform when Gunny is being bailed out of the drunk tank was in fact my Commanding Officer Lt. Col L.C. Brinkman and in the roundhouse in the background was the OOD Gunny Frye and Corporal Little, a little side note to the drunk tank was that the wall directly opposite of the "cell" door was actually a false wall, behind it was the 2nd Deck Solitary confinment wing which at the time was not in use and later turned into what was called "Special Incentive Wing" for model prisoners. Just a little FYI I just found out that my Commanding Officer Lt. COL. L.C. Brinkman passed away, Rest In Peace Col. Brinkman it was an honor to have served under your command.
