Very Disappointing, I expected alot more from this group!

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with "Haunted Honeymoon." I really wanted to like it, given the cast is full of people I enjoy watching...but it just fell so flat imho. IIRC Gilda Radner was in End-Stage Cancer at the time, and that would make sense given her appearence (even with the talented makeup and lighting used to make celeb's look better than they really do); it would also make sense given how dull some of the lines were delivered. I expected alot more from that group, it was a shame it couldnt deliver.

Yes, it was disappointing.
I really liked most of this film, there are some marvelous performances, but the ending completely spoiled it.

I realize you say IIRC, but Gilda was *not* in end-stage cancer during the production of this film. If you read her book, her symptoms started *during* production, but she did not know it was cancer yet. This film was made and released (according to Gilda) before she knew she even had cancer. She thought she had the flu or Epstein-Barr.

I have to agree, much as I hate to admit it. I love you Gene, but what went wrong here?

Ten minutes in, I don't think I can take any more of this turkey. Is it me, or does the dialogue imply that it's self-aware that it sucks?

Gilda: If something scares you just say, whoops, there goes my imagination again.
(lightning flashes)
Gene: Whoops, there goes my imagination again.

Obviously went when he was writing it.

You look terrible. I'm so sorry to hear about your cancer.
But I don't have cancer.
Awkward.

I thought she looked lovely, but I was used to her SNL personas. While watching it, I actually was thinking that she could have played a young (not WoO, young, but young) Judy Garland.
