Why the low rating and who's the werefolf??

This deserves 7 out of 10. 6 at least its class!!! And who is it!!! anyone know?

It is a classic! This is a great film and I remember it fondly from when I was a kid. I always thought the werewolf was someone from the party. It has been years since I've seen it though.

Spoilers:

At first the werewolf mask was worn by a common thug hired by Larry's cousin Charles to kill aunt Kate. After Charles killed the thug in the middle of the movie he wore the werewolf mask himself.

10/10
this film doesn't deserve such low rating, that is a shame and unfair.
film is funny and interesting - my favourite scene was wherever aunt appears, especially for the first time, so funny

I'm glad there are people out there that agree, it's such a fun movie, it doesn't take itself too seriously, if anyone can suggest something similar please let me know.

When he said Mr Leeman was dead i thought he said he's still in bed

definitly, similar movie is Clue (1985)

on DVD there are 3 alternative endings regarding the murderer

reply

I was just thinking this too - CLUE - would be similar!
Great Movie.

I also remember...very vaguely ... 1989s "High Spirits" takes place in a haunted castle and may too be similar.

I don't remember ever seeing this, or even hearing about it when it came out... but come to think of it, I was in college and Boot Camp... and that was the year of Top Gun.

I LOVE Gene Wilder & Gilda Radner, especially together. We really enjoyed this on one of the movie channels recently. Not only was it funny, but it also had the older country house mystery feel to it.

I wouldn't say its a masterpiece or anything. But its better than a lot of people are making out.

I always loved this movie ! To this day it still cracks me up. It's a shame that it's so underrated by many, because I thought it was fun.

the three things i liked about this movie:

1) Dom DeLuise (I can never get enough of watching him whether he's in drag or not.)

2) The werewolf having a conversation while smoking a cigarette.. (Perfect camera angle/placement.)

3) Jonathan Pryce.. (So out of his usual character!)

It’s the best of the “old dark house” spoofs for sure. And the radio drama stuff kicks it into a higher gear if you’re an OTR fan.
