This movie was pure garbage. Dom is a miserable actor and should have been given the chair after his performance.

I know some people don't like it.
I just don't see why they come to this web site and post on multiple posts that they hate it. We get it the first time that you didn't like it.

reply

ambersky...Why do you care if I complain about the movie? Didn't we have this pathetic rant before?

"In order to be sane, one has to be a bit insane"---BC

Why do you stalk my post when I am NOT replying to you?

Or come back to the message board of a movie you hate?

I call that pathetic.

So move on.

Wow, now I know I've entered the Twilight Zone!!! How can anyone say that this is a "really good" movie???

Oh well, to each their own opinion.

paleo666 Yeah, seems like you are bit of a loser - I reckon you were assaulted by a family member or somethign when this movie was playing and it brings back bad memories. Don't worry you'll work it out and feel better, it's just takes time I hear.

By the way, could you just take a few moments to read my signature . . . Thanks.

reply

Dom DeLuise is a great man and a terrific comedic actor. If you can't laugh at this wonderful man who's brought so much joy to so many, then you are the one who needs to be executed.

reply

Oh, I agree! I could watch this movie over and over again and never get tired of it. If y'all like this movie, you'll also probably like "Hanky Panky." It's another Gene Wilder/Gilda Radner movie... it's pretty good, but Haunted Honeymoon is still the most amazing thing ever!

Sometimes the only sane answer to an insane world is insanity.

reply

I totally agree with you loved this film saw it many years sgo and have just got it for my kids they think it`s brilliant.!! I adore Dom Delouise i think he`s hilarious.!!

reply

if you dont liek this movie, stab yourself, because it rocked

reply

No I didn't "LIEK" this movie. I didn't "LIKE" it though. Thanks for the great reply Einstein!

reply

please stop trying to get your last lame words in, it is a weak attempt at power on a message board...

reply

I loved this movie ever since I saw it when I was like 10 or so. I remember it scaring the crap out of me as well in some parts. I don't exactly know what appeals to me so much about it, but it has definately become one of the few movies I can watch over and over and not get tired of it and that I remember even now, 15 years after I first watched it.

If you really enjoyed this movie, you might wanna try watching the movie "Clue," it is similar in many ways and another movie I quite enjoy.

reply

As you are doing? You are worthless. If you are so high and mighty, then why do you keep responding to my responses? That makes you 2x more pathetic then what you claim I am. Talk about weak!

"In order to be sane, one has to be a bit insane"---BC

reply

Just because you say "2x more pathetic" does not actually make it so. You really need to come up with better comebacks. I know, I know, you are going to have something very original and mature to respond back to me with, maybe even something like "your mom."

The truth is, we are all filling our free time by browsing through message boards. What I do not understand is people who come to the message board to insult the movie in a thread meant to praise it. Do you want to simply hurt other people's feelings? Do you really want to feel superior that badly?

reply

alnrules. It's called an opinion. I feel it's completely fine to say a movie is lousy whenever and wherever you want. Who cares if this is a thread that praises the movie? Get it through your thick skull that some people like it and some people don't. I have accepted that even though I think the movie is a waste of eyesight, there are people who enjoyed it. Fine! I just get tired of hearing people bash those refuse to acknowledge that someone has a different opinion about something then they do.

As far as the insults, I would never stop to any level to say, "your mom". That's more of a DoctorGonzzo or whoever thing.

So, please when you want to jump into a conversion, have the courtesy to understand up is at the other end, me, one who could absolutely run circles around you. And this is not me trying to be tough over the Internet, because if you saw me you would understand the true meaning of "Brains and Brawn".

I hope you have a pleasant day and hope to never hear from you again, but I sure that you will justify it in your head that you need to respond in some type of lame fashion.

Cheers!

well id just like to add my humble opinion on this little ol' movie... if i may ????!!

the first rental i ever saw ... was about 10 at the time.

reminds me of happy days !

the butler is wonderful in this from what i can remember

reply

this is the last time i will respond to your lame attempt at being learned/in control of anything. i will state a few childish yet amusing facts, and then ignore this post, so dont even respond, because if you do, it will mean you are a huge loser, by ruling of my black magic

1) you are adopted
2) your parents didnt love you so they got sex changes and became the cast of "my fair brady"
3) your penis is malformed from the constant writhing of your weathered hand
4) haunted honeymoon rocks
5) you touch yourself at night while crying and watching the golden girls
6) caddyshack and kurt russel both suck inumerable amounts of "man-weenie"
7) you work at Arby's
8) you are adopted (yes i know i said it twic,e i was really hoping to stress this one)

au revoir, you know-it-all dooshcockballwizard

reply

Why shouldn't I respond? Anyone who still actually talks about "black magic" in the 21st century is a complete waste of a larynx and has the following issues (I will respond in your list-only 5 though-format, because I do believe that is all that you can comprehend):

1.) Is one of those losers who sits in a comic shop playing "Magic: The Gathering" for hours on end. All those losers need to be castrated, actually all people who read comic books and/or watch Star Wars and Star Trek should be as well. I am sure Doc falls into this category.
2.) Jerks off while thinking of playing Dungeons and Dragons.
3.) Actually alludes to "My Fair Brady".
4.) Is probably under 25 years old and doesn't even have the brain-power to understand Caddyshack or the Dungeons and Dragons comment.
5.) Actually has a crush on paleo666 because he/she or heshe actually took the time to read through paleo666's imdb profile.

Oh yeah Plato, the correct way to spell it is "douche" not doosh as in dooshcockballwizard (ya think that one up all by yourself? Congrats!) and thanks for realizing that I DO KNOW IT ALL!!! It's about time!

"In order to be sane, one has to be a bit insane"---BC

reply

I just think that the people who wanted to talk about how much they liked the movie should be free to do so in their own message thread without being bashed. Hence the title of the thread. But I suppose I am the only person who feels this sense of courtesy? If you wanted to express your own opinion on the movie, you could have started your own thread without making anyone upset, so you obviously wanted to start this online posting war. Oh and please do not insult my intelligence. Although it is obvious to me that Mensa scours the IMDB message boards fo B movies to find its new members and that you will soon be chosen, you have never met me and therefore cannot judge your ability to "run circles around me".

reply

Mensa? Mensa is a joke. I've taken the test, I've been accepted, but I refuse to join because I have to pay for a membership. Mensa is just a frat for people who claim to have high IQs and taped glasses.

"In order to be sane, one has to be a bit insane"---BC

reply

Why would one claim to have taped glasses?

reply

lol, I have no idea, I just thought it sounded funny. Hell, I was born in the early 70's and grew up in the 80's and saw a lot of nerds with taped glasses.

I just wanted to see what some of my fellow movie buffs thought of this movie, as I thought it was not bad. Maybe 21/2 stars out of 4. What I didn't like was this purile moron with his stupid screen name - the "number of the beast" indeed. I hate censorship, but the administrator should really not allow children like this on the message board. People like this should also be kept away from other children and small animals. However, I'm a bit chagrined as I've actually lowered myself to react to this meansprited piece of smegma!! I apologize to the rest of you for my comments to Mr. or Ms. Paleo-neanderthal!!

reply

Congrats avidog, you have now confirmed that there really are pseudo-intellectuals such as yourself out there. Don't try to insult me, it will not have any impact. I am superior and no matter what you or anyone else states, whether muted or vehemently, it will remain so. So please, keep on insulting if you must, I enjoy the attention.

Ciao,

"In order to be sane, one has to be a bit insane"---BC

reply

I thought the movie was funny, it wasn't the best movie I've ever seen, but still good.

reply

Well, my jury is still out on the movie, but I do have a firm opinion about those who litter boards with insulting, mean-spirited, vengeful drivel: unhappy, isolated, and convinced they are victim of an unfair stupid world.

My oh my, Ms. Paleo666, don't you think your untidy and ungrammatical screams are a little bit, well, bizarre? Good people who want to talk about movies should be able to do so without fear of attack by someone who appears to lack even a rudimentary sense of social connection. I read a your prose on this string. Please re-direct your unhappiness. May I suggest you start with a name change? Isn't 666 just a bit cliche?

reply

The name paleo666 was an original email joke when I was in college. It was created back in 1992. So, back then it was not cliche, today maybe, but now it is there to just anger petty wankers such as yourself. You'll also see that I do like a lot of movies in every genre and if I choose to completely desecrate a movie I don't like and is loved by others, that is my right and I plan to say what I please.

Why am I arguing with you? You are a snoozer trying to impress the other "social cast-offs" on this thread.

Snooze and adios.

paleo666 (Mr.)

"In order to be sane, one has to be a bit insane"---BC

lololololololololol

reply

666 has been cliche, for as long as pseudo-devil worshipping teenagers have been around. Which is a lot longer than 1992.

reply

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! OMG... I actually am curious to see your posting history. Wait... actually no I'm not.

Brains and Brawn... whoah that's scary!

reply

paleo666 - What a crap insult? I mean is that the best your could muster? He's made a spelling error and you give it in your "witty" insult "Thanks for the great reply Einstein" . . I mean what kind of spastic are you?

Einstein was a theoretical physicist - which means that he predominantly worked with MATH you freak. If you wanted to give it some you might have been better off syaing something like "Thanks for the great reply Dickens" or maybe something like "Thanks for the great reply Shakespeare." At least these guys were famous for being masters of the medium of language. Durrrr.

Seriously, no wonder you thought this film was pants.

By the way, could you just take a few moments to read my signature . . . Thanks.

reply

Much better than Young Frankenstein.
Gene, Bryan, and Johnathan are all just amazing.

Personal Motto:
Everyone has their Queen -- Freddie Mercury was mine.

reply

idk about that one, but it was pretty close. both movies had great horror atmospheres, even if they were comedies.

reply

As everyone can still see, I am still at a higher level of superiority then the rest.

Peace be with all of you, but not as much as me.

"In order to be sane, one has to be a bit insane"---BC

reply

Wow... paleo666, after all this time you still frequent here.

Lol... thats what I call sad and pathetic.

reply

I remember this movie from my childhood. My grandfather and I used to watch it all the time and even though it wasn't the greatest movie, we always liked it and laughted, especially at Aunt Kate (Dom DeLuise). It was a great movie, but the reason why Young Frankenstein was better is because of two things:
1. Marty Feldmen
2. The Putin' on the Ritz scene...just classic.

reply

Well, those are two great things to have in a movie, I think I'm sticking by Honeymoon.

Personal Motto:

I enjoyed it, silly but fun, and a good way to kill an evening.

reply

I just rented this...my friend and I used to watch it once in awhile, many years ago, and I remember enjoying it as one of the most enjoyable bad movies ever...lol

Hopefully it still is...I'm dying to see it again after all this time.

you watched it, you can’t unwatch it

saw it again...silly and sorta enjoyable...it's no Young Frankenstein, but some very charming actors doing their thing.

I just saw it a couple of weeks ago because I am a big Gene Wilder fan and I really enjoyed it, just not as much as I loved Young Frankenstein, but its still a great comedy/thriller movie and Dom DeLuise is as funny as usual.
but if you want to see another Gene Wilder/Dom DeLuise comedy, see The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes Smarter Brother, its another great funny movie.

Sorta kinda. ;)
