DVD

Is this movie ever going to be released on DVD? This was one of my favorites when I was a kid and I'd love to have it on DVD.

It's extremely unlikely. Lesser-known films like Hamburger--and, it seems, virtually every film with fewer than 500 IMDb votes--never get a DVD treatment.

However, an unofficial DVD is being sold on eBay.

This movie is a classic, me and some buddies still get together and watch cheesy 80's movie marathons and this one is always a favorite, along with Joysticks, Last American Virgin, Fast times at Ridgemont high, Fraternity Vacation, and Up the Creek.

ah fraternity vacation and up the creek two of my absolute faves!!!

"Up the Creek" and "Hamburger" were some of the funniest movies from the 1980s. Dare I say, quoteworthy like other classics like "Caddyshack" or "Porky's." I remember laughing so hard at the scene in the restaurant with the spicy chicken balls and the Nun who swears after eating the fried chicken and gets used for Buster Burger's new ad campaign. I wish it would come out on DVD soon.

Would be cool to see it on dvd. It's an 80's classic IMHO. Better than some of the the new movies that come out on dvd.

The Doctor never loses.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think there's a market out there for these kinds of 'Low rent' 80's comedies. Harbodies, Spring break, Summer school, Porky's. I don't need any extras, just a decent transfer of the movie.

Fast Food is on dvd anything can happen.

I bought the DVD off eBay because my husband had never seen it and I drove him crazy with "My mouth has got a tatse for something beefy, something great, i can smell those burgers frying and I really cannot wait..."

It seems like a VHS to DVD transfer, but the quality was quite good. The guy was in Canada.

My husband made a comment that back in the 80's there was a huge market for movies with lots of boobs and sex, with little else, where did that idea go?

My father, God bless him, loved those kinds of movies. As a result, we had HBO & Cinemax when I was a kid. I affectionately refer to this golden era as 'Boob-a-palooza'.

I've been checking off and on at Amazon.com for years waiting to see if this movie might ever show up on DVD. I would buy it if it ever shows up, because I always liked it a lot. It is one of those movies that is so stupid, it's hilarious! Look at the vote history for it here on the IMDB, and note that the two ratings that have the most votes are "1" and "10". Evidence that this film is one of those "you either love it or hate it" movies. I happen to love it! Just the other day while my wife and I were eating supper (one of the things on the table was a jar of Vlasic Dill Gherkins), seeing the word "gherkin" suddenly brought to mind the scene where the pickle was "giving birth", and Dr. Mole was "delivering" the babies. Imitating his voice, I repeated the lines "A little gherkin" and "Twins!" As usual, when I do weird, random things like that my wife looked at me and said in that inquisitive tone I love so much "What?" I then had to try to explain it to her. It would have been much easier if I could have just showed her, but I don't have the movie. A DVD would help me out! :)

If you don't use your penis is will look like this (he picks up gerkin pillow) long and green, and covered in bumps. The you will have to go through like gerkin' off..LOL Too funny!!

If anyone is interested in a VHS to DVD transfer of this movie, you can e-mail me at [email protected] It's sad though that this movie is probably NEVER going to get an official DVD release:( BUT, in France there was a DVD release of the movie but it had French audio and the quality was a little worse than the VHS-to-DVD transfers that can be found:(

reply

yeah this movie really should be released on dvd

Is there anyone who could provide a link or source for obtaining this movie on DVD? (I know it hasn't been "officially" released)

Why not be a bit more cryptic next time and just announce your eBay username and that you're selling VCD/DivX copies of it.

reply

There are 3 copies of the VHS (previous rental) available on ebay. They run pretty high--$23.00 each + shipping--but if you just gotta have it...
