Nostalgia Chick - Ratigan and Basil were 'ex-boyfriends'?

I just assume she's just joking, here, but it almost doesn't seem that way...

Okay, what does everyone think of this? It never really occured to me and I personally don't see any "innuendo" or "hints" that Ratigan and Basil might have ever been "involved," but maybe I'm alone in that sentiment.

One person's opinion is not necessarily based on a fact. It is an opinion and nothing else. I highly doubt Eve Titus considered her two literary creations as homosexuals. With the slightest hint of any innuendo getting blown out of proportion, nothing is sacred anymore.

Nor did Disney intend anything; that's pretty obvious. But folks nowadays create their own "reality" and convince themselves it's the truth.

Shippers... -_-

Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.

I think it's an exaggeration to say they seem like ex's. That's ridiculous.
HOWEVER.... there's an undeniable tension between them, I guess it's this mixture of passionate aversion AND respect. I emphasize *passion*. I suppose that stimulates some folks' nasty imagination...

Yes, it's a joke. TVTropes calls it "Foe Yay", where two enemies are fixated on each other, and shippers decide there is only one reason why that should be so.
Ratigan's "Goodbye So Soon" song and his stroking Basil under the chin doesn't help either.
