Getting the Dagger, PLEASE HELP!

Ive seen this movie many many times. But theres one thing I can never understand no matter how much i try.

When he gets to the end of the course when hes trying to retrieve the dagger... How does he figure out that drinking the water would put the fire out? I watch it over and over and I dont understand what pops into his head to help him figure that out!!!!!

Only thing I could figure out because of what that monk guy told him. He said he had to be pure. And water purifies.

Everytime I see that part I think to myself that it would have been funnier if he put the fire out with the water. He should of just poured the water onto the fire instead of drinking it.

hey guys im new to IMDB. Anyway, didnt the monk say he wasnt allowed to spill the water? I think taking the fire out with the water wouldve been considered as spilling it.

Good answer Novan. He did say "keep my thoughts as pure as the water...don't drop the water." Up until what you just said, I was thinking the same thing of why didn't he just throw the water in the fire. Well done and welcome to IMDB.

Another tv crew arrived and they went inside. Wouldn't ya know it. The one night I don't perform.

i thought it would of been funnier if he used the water to put the fire out too, it would made more sense too.

He SHOULD have drank the water, then pissed in the fire to put it out.
