what happened to Texas Cobbs character Til

If I had to speculate, I would say that Eddie Murphy probably lobbied to have as little of Tex Cobb in the movie as possible. I had a couple of oppurtunities to hang out with Tex in the summer of '94, and he made it pretty clear the he and Eddie didn't exactly get along. Among the stories he told was of the "$20,000 fart." In the scene where Cobb's character break's the guys neck and then leads Murphy to where the Golden Child is, Tex cut a nasty fart during the first take of that scene. He said that Murphy took about 3 steps before nearly fainting from the odor. The set had to be shut down for more than a half an hour as Murphy demanded any evidence of the smell be removed (and rightfully so). Tex estimated that the from the number of people on the set getting paid by the hour, that fart probably cost about $20,000.

I don't know if this the reason why Cobb's character is left hanging in the end. Like I said, it's just speculation.
