Good SFX By 1980's Standards...

I never thought that Eddie Murphy was the right fit for this movie, that it needed something OTHER than his incessant wise-cracking style.

But at any rate, ' TGC ' did in fact have good SFX by the standards of the day, especially the pre-CGI ' Dancing Pepsi Can ', and Charles Dance's character ' Morphing '.

That makes it worth watching for me...

I recently watched Doctor Strange and some parts of the movie reminded me of The Golden Child. With that being said, it does make me wonder if it were actually possible for a Doctor Strange movie to have been made in the '80s (when one would immediately think that the special effects were much more limited)?

I don't see how they could have possibly done anything like the SFX in, ' Strange ' in 1986-All they had back then were Models, Stop Motion, and 2D Animation.
