Ginger and Fred was a wonderful valedictory piece, but sadly he made one more film and didn't end his career on a high note. His final film with Begnini was an embarrassment. Better to remember Ginger and Fred as his final film.

He made two films - Intervista and La Voce Della Luna. Both are quality; his lower grade still beat out high quality from other directors. A rare talent.
