Great moment

I love that moment, when the lights come on. "Fred" and "Ginger" had been talking, really talking for the first time, in the dark, during the power failure. He gets so worked up over how much he hates the stupid audience, and would just like to go back to his life without them, and gives them, in the dark, an obscene gesture. The lights come on, he docilely puts his head down, and goes back to work. That's what he is, that's what he does. A performer has to perform, if his name is "Fred", Fellini, or Mastroianni.

You know you should surrender
But you can't let it go...
