The sheriff: "You just sit tight Jason"

Man, that had me dying when the sheriff told that to Tommy. He jumped to conclusions that Tommy was responsible for the murders to Megan 

Yeah, he's definetely the comedy relief in the movie. I like him in the Farmers Insurance Commercials too.

There's a legend round here, a killer buried but not dead.

When this bus hit 88 miles per hour....Ya Bang!

I think Deputy Rick was the comic relief, I love the scene when he tries to get the keys when Megan and Tommy lock him in the cell and fails, think this scene is only on the cut version of the film

I remember that scene when I saw it on Channel 11 in the early 90s.

It's weird how that scene is left out of some version, it's in the TV version but not the uncut version

That's not that uncommon.

A lot of time when a movie is on TV the TV will cut things for commercials and sometime they'll add in scenes that are cut from the final copy of a movie to fill time to make up the cuts.

I remember one time I saw a scene in "Empire Strikes Back" right after Luke had thrown himself off the platform and Darth Vader had reached out his hand and clenched it into a fist and Luke stopped falling and began to rise up to Darth Vader - but then Vader turned in his head, a conflict in him about this action, and he opened his hand and turned away and Luke continued to fall down the shaft (demonstrating that even in Empire Strikes Back that Vader was wrestling with the desire in him to turn Luke to the Dark Side; I was upset that they cut it, it showed character with Vader in my opinion).

I've never been able to find that scene - even on deleted scenes on YouTube, but for what it's worth, you're right about them having stuff on TV that isn't always in the final cut.
